On Thursday morning just before 6 o’clock, Engine 312 was dispatched to respond with surrounding companies for the reported dwelling fire on Gwynnwest Road. The engine company responded on the call with 4 volunteers. Minutes later, Engine 412 from Reisterstown arrived on location to find smoke showing from an end of the group town house. Upon our arrival, an update was given by command stating that fire was showing from the basement. Engine 312′s crew was tasked with assisting E412 on the fire floor with extinguishment and commencing the primary search as well as checking for extension. Units operated on this incident for an hour and a half before returning to service.

Just after 1400 hrs on Tuesday July 12, Firebox 31-19 was alerted for the Apartment fire. Smoke was visible from Station 31 and dispatch advised they were receiving multiple calls. Engine 19 was on the air when they were picked up for the Firebox and were first on the scene advising heavy fire in multiple townhomes. Engine 312 arrived and secured 19′s water supply. Due to the extensive and advancing fire conditions an exterior attack was initially ordered and a second and third alarm was requested. Crews quickly worked to knock down the fire and ventilate the homes. Once the fire was knocked down, Truck 313 and additional crews completed the primary  and secondary searches in all the units. Units continued to search for hot spots and wet down until it was deemed the fire was completely out. Crews operated on the scene for approx. 4 hours before returning to service.

On Sunday morning, Truck 313 along with other companies in the battalion were alerted to respond for a dwelling fire on Emory Road. Due to the fact that several other truck companies were out of service, Truck 313 was the first due truck on the assignment. Units arrived on location with a fully involved, one story vacant structure. The crew of 313 assisted other companies with extinguishment and overhaul. On a side note, Company 31 has handled 19 suppression calls so far for the holiday weekend.

It has been very quiet around Owings Mills for the past few months, lots of  ”routine” calls.  But this afternoon Owings Mills was alerted to an autofire on the 795 northbound.  Engine 312 arrived to find the engine compartment on fire.  The crew extinguished the fire and was placed back in service after about 30 minutes.

Thanks to Lt Nelson for the pics.
