On Saturday morning at around 05:45, Engine 311 and Engine 2 (Pikesville) were alerted to respond for a reported auto fire on southbound I-795. After the units called en route dispatch updated them that they were receiving multiple calls on this incident. Engine 311 arrived minutes later to find a fully involved auto on the slow shoulder. Extinguishment and overhaul occurred, Engine 311 was clear within a half hour.

For the second weekend in a row, the Volunteers of Station 31 did not get much rest. The action started around 10:00 PM on Friday night with Station 31 being alerted for a house fire in Randallstown Box 18-10. Units arrived on Turnbull Road to find a one story dwelling with fire showing. Units from Station 18 arrived first and placed two attack lines in service. Engine 18 was able to make a quick knock on the fire. Engine 311 arrived and assisted Engine 18 with operations. Engine 311 cleared a short time later.

Truck 313 Responds on 3rd Alarm Building Fire.

Again just minuets before 1:00 AM Station 31 was alerted for a 3rd alarm fire in an assisted living home Box 14-09. Truck 313 responded on the alarm with five volunteers.  Units from the 1st battalion arrived to find heavy fire showing. Companies went right to work safely removing all residents of the facility and making an aggressive attack on the fire. Truck 313 assisted with operation in the basement area of the building. Truck 313 remained on scene for a short time before being transferred to cover B.CO.F.D. Station 17 (Texas). Truck 313 covered Station 17 to the early morning hours of Saturday before returning to Station 31. While Truck 313 operated at the 3rd Alarm, a Fire Box was struck in Owings Mills Box 31-07 for a building fire. Engine 312 responded and arrived with the command. Engine 312 confirmed an outside fire at the location and handled, returning the rest of the box.

Brush 314 Runs Brush Fire in 60′s 1st Due

Later Saturday morning, Baltimore County experienced its busiest day so far this year. Due to dry conditions and strong winds, the Baltimore County Fire Service was extremely busy with wind driven brush fires across the County. The Parkton area of Baltimore County was the scene of a multi alarm brush fire, which Station 31 was alerted to transfer our Brush Unit 314 to the Maryland Line Station #45. While at Station #45 they were requested to the scene of the multi alarm brush fire. The Brush Unit operated for several hours before retuning to Station 31. While Brush 314 operated far from home, Members from Station 31 staffed the Station anticipating a eventful afternoon.

Engine & Truck Run 10-50 PI Rescue Box 31–01

Minutes before 2:30 PM Station 31 was alerted for a 10-50 PI Rescue on Reisterstown Road at Painters Mill Road. Truck 313 arrived with an overturned vehicle with confirmed rescue. The patient was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Units cleared the scene a short time later.

After a busy start to the 2011 year, Volunteers from Station 31 have been on the run handling over 300 Fire Suppression calls till this past Friday. At 1642 hours, Station 31 was alerted for a Building fire in Pikesville Box 2-19. Engine 312 and Truck 313 responded on the Fire Box. On the arrival of  Truck 313 the crew proceeded to the roof for out side vent operations while other companies from the 2nd Battalion worked to put a knock on the fire. Units were cleared from the scene at 2050 hours.

On Sunday at 1319 hours, Station 31 Volunteers were alerted for a House Fire in Chestnut Ridge Box 50-17. First arriving units confirmed a fire in the rear porch area of the home. Crews initially attempted an interior fire attack, but quickly evacuated the home and began defensive only operations. Due to the area not having fire hydrants, a tanker task force was requested. Companies worked for several hours to extinguish the fire.  Company 31 returned to service at 1712 hours. When the weekend was  done the volunteers had handled more then 25 calls in the Owings Mills area.

On the evening of Saturday, January 29th, a fire occurred in the Charles Village Pub in Towson off of Pennsylvania Avenue. Truck 313 and Engine 312 responded on the fire. Once the truck arrived at location, the incident had already went to defensive operations so crews reported to the front of the building for exterior operations. Engine 312 staged with other companies and were released a few hours later. Numerous blitz lines and master streams were put in service. The truck remained on the scene for about 4 hours and returned to service after midnight.

Dec 292010

On December 28th just after midnight, Engine 312 and Truck 313 were struck for a house fire in Glyndon Box 40-1. Engine 312 and Truck 313 both staffed with 5 personnel responded. Units from Reisterstown Vol. Fire Co. 41 arrived first and found the fire to be in the basement of a 1 story dwelling. The fire originated on the exterior of the structure and worked its way into the basement. Companies ventilated structure and were clear within the hour.
